In addition to making your arms skinny, the plank exercise helps strengthen your core, boost shoulder stability and increase bone strength in your wrists and forearms. Drop into a push-up position, resting on your elbows and toes. Hold this position for at least 20 seconds for starters and a minute for experts.

Best Slimming Ingredients for Your Summer Drinks

If you are trying to drop a few pounds for summer, you might want to know some great slimming ingredients you can add to your summer drink. I think sipping on cool and sweet drinks on hot summer days is an easy way to lose weight. We know that most hot winter drinks are high in calories, however, cold summer drinks can also contain plenty of empty calories. Cocktails, smoothies and juices are usually packed with sugar and they can cause weight gain. This summer, replace all those sugary ingredients for slimming ingredients for your drinks. Your lean waistline will thank you!

1. Unsweetened almond milk

If you want to lose weight, start using unsweetened almond milk instead of dairy milk. Unsweetened almond milk contains 30 calories per cup and it contains no soy, sugar, lactose, carbs, gluten, or MSG. I love to add unsweetened almond milk to my creamy summer drinks. Yum!

Harmless Habits That Mow Down Your Immune System

How often do you get sick? If it happens more than 2-3 times a year, then your immune system is in danger. It means that your body has been weakened by various factors. Let’s try to handle the situation and understand what’s wrong. I’ve already experienced such a problem and did my best to dot the I’s and cross the T’s. A few years ago I believed that it was better to be safe than sorry and tried to reduce the chances of getting ill. I did all possible things to avoid overcooling and become healthier. Unfortunately, it only intensified the problem and lowered my body resistance to cold weather. A bit later I understood that my good intentions and habits paved the way to miserable life.

Good immune system is the key to your overall well-being and success. Body is a smart mechanism that can control and organize the effective functioning of its systems. It can defend itself against different viruses. Poor immune response is the result of a wrong lifestyle. Today people tend to take serious preventive measures and protect themselves from diseases. It’s been proved that constant preventive measures make your immune system unable to defense the body against harmless bacteria. Human body can successfully reach thermal comfort in both hot and cold weather conditions.

There’s no need to wrap up well all the time, because your body will lose the grip in its ability to cope with cold weather. I think that health problems are of current importance in a modern world. At first glance, these habits seem to be harmless, but you should make every effort to break this vicious circle

1. Pessimistic mindset

It’s hard to believe but the productivity of the immune system depends on your mindset. Psychologists state that the body’s mental health and physical health are closely interconnected. People who see the world in dark colors usually fall ill more frequently than optimists. Negative thoughts and lack of faith in their own abilities make them less resistant to stress and various diseases.

Three years ago I was a terrible pessimist. My head was overloaded with obsessive thoughts about my problems and symptoms. My hypochondriac’s state of mind significantly suppressed the effectiveness of my immunity system. Unfortunately. it made me get sick again and again. One day I decided to start thinking optimistically, because I was sick and tired of hospitals. If you’re facing the same problem, you should stop worrying about your health. Frankly speaking, you have nothing to lose. Do your best to become an optimist. It will increase the quality of your life and improve your physical and mental well-being.

Reasons to Load Your Cart with Lemons

The Ancient Egyptians believed that drinking lemon juice or eating lemons could protect them from many types of poison. Although several recent studies proved this fact, lemons have other powerful health benefits. They’re fortified with citric acid, magnesium, calcium, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, pectin, and limonene, and have potent immune-boosting, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Lemons provide nutrients essential for your health and good maintenance of your body. Here’s why you should keep loving lemons:

1. Improve your skin texture

Thanks to their high antioxidant content, lemons help to protect your skin from the sun and pollution damage, prevent and reduce wrinkles, combat acne and maintain a healthy complexion. Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C that plays a significant role in the production of collagen, providing a skin-rejuvenating effect. Adding lemons to your diet is one of the most effective ways to keep your skin as well as body young and fresh.

2. Keep your teeth clean and healthy

Lemons are often used in dental care. While lemon juice may be too acidic, lemon water is perfect for your teeth. Add a drop of lemon juice to your toothpaste or use lemon water (without sugar, of course) as a mouthwash to get rid of bad breath instantly. To create a quick homemade mouthwash, mix a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice in a glass of warm water. Never rub your teeth with lemon juice. I know many people do it to prevent gum disease and tooth pain, but this method can do more harm than good.

3. Promote weight loss

Lemon juice contains a soluble fiber, pectin that has been shown to promote weight loss. Drinking lemon water (I don’t recommend drinking fresh lemon juice as it is, because it’s highly acidic) in the morning helps to speed up your metabolism, cleanse your body and promote weight loss. It also helps to keep your ideal weight off and eliminate waste from your body.
4. Boost potassium intake

Bananas aren't the only potassium rich food. One average lemon contains about 80 milligrams of potassium that helps to send more oxygen to the brain, and keep the bones strong and healthy. Surely, bananas are more delicious than lemons, but no one makes you eat the whole lemon. Consider drinking lemon water in the morning or add a slice of it to your black or green tea.

5. Relieve burns

Lemon is a cooling agent that can be useful in treating the burns. Lemon has anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties that help to reduce the burning sensation on the skin as well as relieve insect bites. Lemon juice can be used to fade the burn scars but make sure you consult a dermatologist first.

6. Control high blood pressure

Due to its rich potassium content, lemons are good for your heart. People suffering from heart problems and high blood pressure, drink lemon water or tea to improve their health. Lemons can help to relieve dizziness and nausea, too. Lemons can’t replace the medicine, but a glass of warm lemon water a day won’t hurt you anyway. Lemon water has been shown to boost energy, fight anxiety and depression. Plus, it helps to balance your body’s pH.

7. Improve your immune system

Everyone knows that lemons help to prevent cold and flu, and it’s true. Lemons are plentiful in vitamin C that keeps your immune system healthy and strong, which is incredibly important during the winter season. Incorporate more fruit and vegetables into your eating plan to ward off germs that cause cold and flu. When it comes to healthy winter drinks, warm lemon water is your perfect bet.

There are an abundance of reasons to include lemons, lemon water and lemon juice in your eating plan. Lemons aren't good for everyone, though. People suffering from gastro-esophageal reflux disease should avoid consuming too much lemons. In fact, you don’t have to eat whole lemons or drink fresh lemon juice – it’s not healthy. Just add a slice to your water, tea, cocktails and meals to reap all the benefits lemons boast. If you drink lemon water regularly, what’s your best thing about how it makes you feel?
